the title of this blog comes from a conversation i overheard between two young girls (probably late teens, early 20's) on the bus home from work the other day. And you know what i think? I think, no bullshit. this girl really was serious. i also believe with every fiber of my being she was for real. she had conviction behind this statement and while the language didn't seem like grounds on which to build a convincing argument, there was something behind her voice. maybe it was seriousness. whatever it was, i could tell that her friend had been down this road before ahd had been through this proverbial song and dance with this particular friend. i'm not sure what was being taken so seriously on one end of the conversation and with a grain of salt on the other, but if i were a bettin' lady, i'd go with this particular declaration having to do with a boy (a super hot boy is what i've also decided). I'm sure this friend complains all the time about how horrible he is to her and how completely inconsiderate he is of her especially when he's out all night partying with the boys, to the next day going on and on about how sweet he was to bring her her favorite drink from starbucks ("he even remembered i like whipped creame!"). Yeah, I could see this girl had hit her limit with this other chica and her extremely sad, unhealthy relationship. she was the bitter, cynical, unintersted friend. i know her, becuase i have been and there would be no need to alert the presses if i ended up still being her. no more! go forth serious girl! stay serious! I have faith in you and all your realness!
I want some chinese food and i'm really serious about that.
